Today has been pretty cool, I've had a bit of time to ruminate on the best way to work with my creative space and I'm looking forward to putting things into place. I guess the next step is to measure up the known quantities such as my letterpress gear, my screenprinting gear and my gear gear - and see what will fit where! Like Tetris, but with more black mould.
So today I got my first little look at my new printmaking space. I've wanted to have some dedicated working space for a long time (more than 5 years), and I'm really looking forward to setting this up. Living in flats and rented accommodation makes this sort of stuff really difficult and it's only through good fortune rather than particularly good management I've managed to find this space. It's really difficult to find space like this. (Believe it or not).
It's an awesome mix too as I will be sharing the building with a new gallery which is also very exciting. I will share more details on that as they are ready for public consumption.
So - This is my new space for being creative and messy. I will share more pics as it's cleaned up and made ready to use - I've got some measurements and the next few weeks are already looking totally flat out so I will be concentrating on planning and getting it all worked out in my head.
I will also be updating my flickr stream with more pics as they happen.
Busy.
I've found some space to do printmaking in! Super excited! I will document that as it happens, but right now, just really happy to have found a spot to make a mess in and do some printmaking with my letterpress and screenprinting gear. Can't wait to start getting some details and plans in place.
This year I'm gunna try and get a tee up on threadless. Watch and learn foos!
(I expect a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth)
Actually, I think it's kinda crap I haven't had a crack before. I did one ages ago and it was really bad. Lets see if I've improved..

I've been planning to setup a small screenprinting setup for basically forever. I want to print my posters, but never really had the time or space to do it. This year, I am going to print my own stuff, because I want to.
I'm gunna bag some screens from this guy and the rest of my general purpose kit will come from Melbourne etching supplies.
I will document the process as it goes.
My plan for this week is to use Basecamp more.
It's an amazingly powerful productivity tool.
Being a nightowl is awesome, cause you get lots of stuff done late at night. But you also end up like the living dead the next day, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I would be more productive in daylight if I stopped staying up late all the time.
(The irony is not lost on me that it's taken me a few more minutes past the 11.30 mark to create this non-amusing o'rly ya'rly owl image, which has consequently taken me past my planned bedtime.)

Sick of email hassles. Sick of not replying to other people's emails because they got lost in dross, and email lists and spam and duplicate emails.
I plan to apply inbox zero to my unwitting email client.
I also plan to rid myself of duplicate emails
I plan to automagically file my partners email into another folder so I stop accidentally loosing email from her friends.
